~April Favorites~

April has come and gone. It's time to find out what I have been loving! This is weird since I'm still catching up on posts from this month. Please sit back and relax as I play catch up.

Make-Up

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - This is an old favorite that I had picked back up thanks to the Youtuber Cherry Dollface. It is a perfect liner that really adds a perfect line.

Too Faced Sugar Pop Eye Palette - I am a huge fan of Too Faced products. This one didn't let me down. The colors have both a good bright color and then also some good dark colors. It's great for spring time. It's able to handle extra shadowing to certain looks.

Balm Voyage Vol. 2 - This is a great palette after the first one! It has many great colors for spring and summer looks. The Balm has a quality that can't be beat in my opinion.

EcoTools Mattifying Finish Brush - I received this in my Influenster box (which if you follow my social media) you know I love this already! It leaves a great finish and really does mattify the make up. I do recommend it.

Skincare

Autism Awareness Bar Soap - FCS is a favorite of mine besides Lush! This was raising awareness and giving a great clean feeling which is something that I love from a product when it has dual purpose.

Benefit Cosmetics Puff Off! - I have many late, late nights. This is great for helping me get ride of the

Hair care

Pantene Pro-V Volume Silicone Free Shampoo - This was one of Jennifer Ross's favorites the last month and I picked it up and loved it!

Carol's Daughter Cupuaçu Anti-Frizz Smoothing Blow Dry Cream - I received this months and months ago in my Ipsy bag and fell completely in love with it.

Currents 04. 29. 15

I have been busy on my day off catching up on business stuff and working on catching up. It's been a low day with a few extra highs thrown in. The best friend's uncle passed away and she was attending his funeral. Then another friend's dad is in very critical condition.

Mini Currents 04. 26. 15

Today was simply amazing! I started off with yoga with my girls. Then while spinning (cycling) I watched a sermon.

I went to pick my Mewmaw up from her sister's house and something amazing happened! She wanted to go home! She hasn't felt well enough (or people haven't been able to take her) to go back to her house! She loved it so much. She kept talking about her flowers.

Then she also ate more than she has since she left the hospital as well. It made her feel better and it made me feel better knowing that I can tap into my country cooking. She napped and I napped.

Ok so today was super busy! It was just one thing after another today! First off it was flooding! Literally there were people being rescued from their homes!

I had an adoptive a school meeting and project that took up a large portion of my day! But it turned out great and the school's foyer looks fantastic now! It looks like a legit office now!

After that I took my IT/Top-Notch-Employee to Olive Garden with his kids and we had an amazing time! After eating we went to see the interior designer that is helping fix up our new houses!

Good day everyone! Here at the Collins' Casa we have had a spectacular day! The girls (including myself) did some shopping. We went to Bessemer and and Tuscaloosa.

Then we came home to the Wii Tournament! We had the best time. We busted out the other games after that! We were all laughing through the day!

Favorite Attractions at Animal Kingdom

Disney Queen here checking for the latest on her favorites of a Disney area. Get your wild side on for the Disney's Animal Kingdom favorites! This is slightly harder for me because Animal Kingdom is my least favorite park of Disney World.

...

It's not that I don't like it, quite the opposite but I just don't get the pull like I do from the other parks. Sure it's exciting and very educational, but the other parks have something at every turn and corner to catch your attention (okay except Innovations at EPCOT.) Animal Kingdom does have a lot to offer but I just feel like it could have more. But let's not dwell on the negative, onwards!

Tusker House

At this colorful Harambe marketplace eatery, you’ll find a family-focused buffet brimming with African flavors. -- Walt Disney World: Tusker House Restaurant
Breakfast or brunch at the Animal Kingdom has to be here for me! I enjoy it so much! You can eat all you want (get the ham and the spicy mustard) and then of course, my favorite part of the Tusker House, The Jungle Juice. Now the kiddies get to meet Mickey Mouse and the gang here in their safari outfits. It's a blast for them to get autographs and enjoy a breakfast. I really recommend this even if you don't have kids.

Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain

Careen through the Himalayan mountains on a speeding train while avoiding the clutches of the mythic Abominable Snowman. -- Walt Disney World: Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
The queue for this ride is interesting enough itself. The notes and camp items set up for people waiting to board the train to look at and observe. I strongly suggest riding this in the morning and right before the park closes. Plus, if it at all possible ride once in the very front. You will feel like the king of Disney World, trust me that's all the hint I am giving you. Plus, smile for the picture as you plunge!

Flight of Wonder

Namaste! Let your spirits soar as exotic birds display their guile and grace in this inspirational, educational show. -- Walt Disney World: Flight of Wonder
This show is amazing! There are several memories for me tied with the show. The show doesn't change, but I love the knowledge and the crowd interaction. This is a great chance to see birds that you almost won't see anywhere else. The kids are always fascinated by it. Some children might be slightly scared of the birds flying. But it's now a must do for me and my family.

Kali River Rapids

A rip-roaring, river raft ride that takes you on a tour through a lush jungle landscape ravaged by illegal logging. -- Walt Disney World: Kali River Rapids
Roulette comes to mind with this ride. You never know who exactly is going to walk away from the sopping wet! I do recommend a change of clothes after this ride. Sure some people wimp out and wear a poncho on this ride, but I will say that it won't do much good and takes away some of the fun. There are all sorts of surprises on this soaking wet water ride!

Kilimanjaro Safaris

Ride off in an open-air vehicle for a tour of a lush African savanna, home to exotic animals like lions and elephants. -- Walt Disney World: Kilimanjaro Safaris
This is probably the attractions I have been to the most often in Animal Kingdom. I recommend riding this morning right after the Castmembers have fed the animals. This one gets to me because it's some animals you don't see at a local zoo and this doesn't have visible bars and such for the visitors. The guided tour is pretty awesome. Plus in the future Disney is saying there will be nightly tours! That will be incredible.

Primeval Whirl

Spin and slide on a time-machine coaster back to the dinosaur age through a madcap maze of curves and drops. -- Walt Disney World: Primeval Whirl

This is a "kiddie coaster." I say that with quotes because it can be intense! It has sharp drops and curves and twirls! It's a blast though because you never know when something is going to happen to your time machine!

Finding Nemo - The Musical

Based on the hit animated movie, this must-“sea” adventure makes a splash with spectacular music and stunning theatrical puppetry. -- Walt Disney World: Finding Nemo - The Musical
I will never forget the first time I watched this. I was expecting something very childish and boring. However, I was blown away at this performance! These people are so in character that they really bring to life the movie! You forget that there are humans moving the characters around and just enjoy the show - and bubbles!

It's Tough to be a Bug

Discover what it’s like to be a bug during this 3D film and live show inspired by the Disney•Pixar film, A Bug’s Life. -- Walt Disney World: It's Tough to be a Bug
The first time I saw this I swore I would never go back. Yeah that went out the door. Yes it can be scary for young kids. Even the spiders still scare me at times! Also when the "bad" bugs come out be sure to lean up especially if you have a bad back or a sensitive back because bugs are not so kind to your back!

Festival of the Lion King

Go ape for the triumphant return of pageantry and puppetry at this big-as-Broadway show celebrating Simba, the lion cub who would be king—now at home in Africa at the all-new Harambe Theater! -- Walt Disney World: Festival of the Lion King
Seeing Lion King on broadway was amazing, but seeing this was even more amazing! I love how they really get the crowd involve! It's like a pep rally with music and cheering. The story comes alive and the skill of these performers are top! They really push boundaries!

Honorable Mentions:

Yak and Yeti

Hungry after your Himalayan trek? Tempt your taste buds with a feast of Asian fare—teriyaki beef bowls, roasted vegetable couscous wraps, egg rolls, fried rice and more.  -- Walt Disney World: Yak and Yeti
This is my go to counter service in Animal Kingdom when on the dining plan! Hello egg rolls as snack credits?!?! Sign me up! I always enjoy this eatery. It's something that is very different for a quick service at Disney World. They have a wonderful range in food.

Unique shops

Each park of Disney World has their own shops. The Animal Kingdom has the most unique shops (to me that is) of the parks. The shops in Animal Kingdom have a huge variety of products. For a list of shops go here: Animal Kingdom Shops

Mini Currents 04. 10. 15

It's National Sibling Day! I love my brothers and sisters dearly. From the oldest to the youngest of them all!

We have started playing the Wii more and more in our house. We have tournaments and keeping score on the white board in the room. It is making us much closer and helping us to get to know each other more and more. Nothing beats watching the bowling ball go backwards.

Family has become more and more important to me. I like to get to know the quirks of each other because that's what makes us, us. We are that crazy family that is praising God while the rain beats down. We stand tall and proud (really most of us are over 5 feet and 5 inches tall.)

Sunday's Questions with A Pop of Jess: Vol. 2

Welcome back to Sunday's Questions Series with A Pop of Jess! Every Sunday for the next 19 weeks I'll be doing thought provoking questions with Jessica from A Pop of Jess. We have a 100 questions and will be answering 5 a week. We are doing this for personal growth and to let everyone get to know different things about us. The questions was sent to us to answer at once, but we decided that it would be a better idea to extend the questions to a few each week.

Answering these questions publicly is a huge risk for us so we hope you enjoy them. Jessica is the author of A Pop of Jess and is the friend that I can always count on. Her interesting look on life is always unusual. Her post for today can be found here.

This week we have a few new thought provoking questions!

Mini Currents 04. 04. 15

Today was interesting day for me! We began the day with hiding plastic eggs for the kids. I got to enjoy seeing some friends. We went to go see about adopting kittens. And then we spent a wonderful amount of time at the library. I literally could spend all day at the library! Visiting Mewmaw was interesting. I really hope I stay young minded when I get old.

EASTER!!!

My Disney Trip February 2015 - Princess Marathon.

I have been told I was a Princess since the second my daddy lifted me into his arms the day I was born. And I just have to prove that my daddy is always right (except when we disagree then I'm right.)
It was my second time to run the Princess Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World, but this time I did the entire weekend and Rain ran her first race! We had an awesome time!

I can honestly say that I love running Disney's marathon weekends. It's just fun for me and helps me keep in great shape. I love the expo though that comes with it. You kind find all kind of one of a kind things for running and the races! I spends hours in the expos at Disney. Like these Dooney & Burke purses to left. I love Disney and Douney & Burke pairing up together!

I know someone people get frustrated with the expos because you have paid so much to run the race and the expo just doesn't seem fair. But I personally budget that in! I love the expo and the merchandise that there!

I don't put the car decals on my cars except for a few the rest I put around my wall mirror in my home gym. It's a reminder in the morning at 5:30 or 6 A.M that I am working for something and there is a true payoff to working towards that goal.

I also like buying the cups for the same reason because it's a reminder to put something good in that cup so that I can run again. But I can also treat myself in the same cup.

There is something so magical to me about seeing the train station on the way to Magic Kingdom. I am also that person that reads the bricks because I find it so fanscinating to see the dates and the names on the walk to the gates. You'll also see me taking off my purse and having it ready for the security people to check it.

I enjoy the rope drop show but at the same time I enjoy the empty park photos in front of the castle if I have a breakfast dining reservation at Crystal Palace or Cinderella's Castle. I usually strive to both in a trip. Because the rope drop show is just so amazing to me. It gives me chills and tears each time I see it. Even if I'm wearing wings I get chills while performing because, heck, it is Disney after all.

There are always magical things happening at Disney. From the vactioners making their own magic to Disney creating special experiences. It's very emotional!

There was some limited time magic characters in the parks this weekend! John Smith was one of them. He is a character that I have seen only once before so being able to meet him was a new experience for me. My daughter tickled me though, "I would have rather met John Ralph, that is who she married. Not some guy that cared more about his ship and his selfish needs than her." Yup I am raising her right!

She ran in the half marathon weekend for the first time! She did the 5K and the kid races. Her sister, Luna isn't far behind her. She will race in the Tinker Belle Half Marathon Kid Races. I am so proud of each of them!
My running partner, Chris, loved the fact that my daughter joined us! He kept making her laugh and snort while running. She was very proud of her 5K medal. She was proud of her Kid Race one as well but she kept looking at her medal and grinning. I swear the sun had competition for the beaming light radiating out from her. When we returned I had the 5K framed for her without glass so she could still touch it.

She does still have a lot to learn about recovery though. Which is why I promised her if she recovered the right way like I instructed her to do I would let her and her sisters build a Dino from T-Rex.

The girls were estatic about building dinos! They had built a bear before but never a dino. It wass so new to them and watching them pick out accessories and dinos to stuff was fantastic. My fiance, Vin, even insisted that I make one to remember the special trip by for later on. I loved spending that time with the girls.

We all had very girly looking dinosaurs to eat with at T-Rex Cafe. We love T-Rex Cafe with the animatronics everywhere. The girls like this better the Rainforest Cafe, which is owned by the same company. They said that it is more fun and different. I asked them how and the answers made me laugh on the inside: "It's not as dark." "More to do!" "Nicer people, jeez mom." "Better food." From the mouths of babes folks!

Saturday came and Chris laughed at the fact I was so excited about running. He said no one should be that excited about running that early in the morning. I told him that he had no idea and that he should be lucky his running partner has so much enthusiasm.

We enjoyed the run and laughed about the motivational songs. We also were giggling at the people that think we are married when running. But we are good sports about it and just laugh and carry on. Chris's wife was back home since she was 9 months pregnant and she had told him to go on this was his challenge and it would make her proud. (Ohhhhh did that ever come into play but that's for later!)

Doing an even that neither Chris nor I had ever been to was something really awesome! We usually carb together on our own food in our villas. So this was so awesome for us! And love it we did because the music and the food was perfect.

Let me add that Chris was my first new friend upon arriving in Alabama when I moved to Huntsville from Seattle. We became friends over exercising, dancing, and riding our motorcycles. We just have that friendship where we care about each other without falling for each other. So the music was perfect for us.
I will have to do more Past in the Park parties in the future! Yes there are lots more of races for me and Chris in the future and you'll be apart of it! We like taking pictures for ya'll and just being crazy and wild while staying healthy.

Pasta in the Park was really great to meet other runners and hear their stories. Striking up conversations with complete strangers is something I have no trouble doing and this atmosphere was great because even though we were strangers in a room eating we all had something in common-- that mileage that lay before us. So for that reason along I thought it was worth it.

We are so excited about this race in Paris, France! Chris and I have both been to Disneyland Paris before so we are no stranger to area there (his wife is from there!) So this is going to be amazing for us! We both got so excited about seeing this getting ready for the half marathon to start.

We like doing Disney races, but we are slowly branching out into doing more and more different kinds of marathons and races. Some say we like the bling, and other people say we like the attention and fame. We really just like the feeling of sharing a running experience together. It's a memory that will last us a lifetime.

Nothing beats the Fairy Godmother's Go! Just the sound of that "Go!" sends my body into waves of adrenaline, but I have to remind myself to pace myself. Pacing is important to me because I know I will do better if I start out with a few sprints, and go into a slight jog. I don't run until I am half way through. And my music is perfectly organized to keep me pumped and ready throughout the race!

This year's playlist included:

This was my second glass slipper challenge! I am so excited to have really pushed myself to this. The experiences from this can't be beat from any other races. To me these are top notch medals and I have never had anything bad happen during a race at Disney.

We got a text before the race started saying that Odette (Chris's wife) was Georgia doing some shopping which was odd to both me and him. He figured that she may have started feeling some contractions or something but never would we have guessed what would unfold in front of us.

As Chris crossed the finish line he had no idea that his wife had just finished having a semi-homebirth with her midwife in Georgia. She FaceTime Chris and he was overcome because his little princess had been born while he was running the princess marathon. His wife insisted he recover before coming to see them. His medals from the weekend hang in Raiponce;s nursery (for short we call her Ray-Ray and it's French for Rapunzel.)

Everyone thinks I'm crazy but I have to say that before the race I'm excited, during the race I'm screaming at myself never to do it again, and when I'm finished I'm ready to do it again. I never thought I would be that addicted to running and fitness. But I feel amazing after each one of them.

I cannot wait for the races in the future! More fitness, more training, more Disney! What more could this girl from Alabama want?

Mini Currents 04. 03. 15

Today has been amazing! Spending the day with my family all day long. The morning started off with yoga and then I went making sure the girls were set up to start on homeschooling. Then for me it was time to work on my planner while my babies had some tummy time.

Talking to my friend Jessica (yes from A Pop of Jess) while we talked about all sorts of different things. When we hung up I decided that I would watch Organized Jen or Jennifer Ross. I have a plan in the future for me talking about her.

The afternoon I asked if I could take Easter pictures at my Mewmaw's church. I remember growing up here and putting on so many Christmas and Easter plays. Trust me I still blush at the memory of wearing a huge crepe paper flower on my head one Easter morning.

Tonight is being spent preparing for Easter and blogging. Sunday morning Mewmaw will go with us to the Sunrise service. Our church may have it bad points but I clearly remember last year when someone wearing pajamas and someone else wearing workout gear.

Tomorrow's library trip

My January Disney Trip

This trip was a trip of firsts for me. And I don't regret it one bit. My entire family (well at the time) went and we had a blast. It was the #CollinsClanCrashdisney Disney trip! Trust me, totally crashed it. There were blondes everywhere! This was a special trip to us!

Who doesn't get excited to see this archway? Ok I do when I'm on the other side of the road and it's saying goodbye! But still! This is always so exciting!

Disney actually left up the Christmas decorations until half way through our trip! I believe that they wanted the runners of the Disney World Marathon Weekend to see the decorations! We all loved it!

Disney food is like heaven to me!!! Seriously this doughnut was the size of my freaking head!!! But the hot chocolate was even better! It was delicious to my sore throat! I got sick at Disney! It sucked having to run the entire marathon weekend with half of my usual lung capacity but I did it with the strength of my family and friends and of course God.

"Eat cupcakes for breakfast" is a great quote but I do prefer Mickey Mouse rice krispie treats covered in chocolate and peanut butter chips! Omg and on a stick! Seriously this is the most divine thing for breakfast or a treat!

I really do recommend H20 products even if they aren't Disney! I love the facial soap!!! It really does clean your face and helps you rinse the day!

People ask me all the time which Disney World resort I recommend the most. I can give you my top 5 without an explanation now: Wilderness Lodge, Wilderness Lodge Villas, Pop Century, Port Orleans Riverside, and Boardwalk Villas. This trip we enjoyed the Wilderness Lodge Villas. We call it home most of the time. However, we like to try new places from time to time.

I'm not sure where I would be if there was not a Disney World. My life might not be in existence without Disney World. It's a strange thought that crosses my mind while at I'm at Disney each time. Where would I be without these memories? Really would anything be the same?

I did indeed feel a little Dopey after that challenge. It was the beginning of me and one of my best friends challenging ourselves to every single one of Disney's races!

Yes the last picture is taken with my iPhone also. I am amazed by that! But once we got home I realized why God made this picture so perfect. You see I had been dealing with this negative person and they finally took themselves from my life about the time I took this picture. God was showing me that I was where I was meant to be. That person can dwell in their negativity and attention seeking all they want. I am happily living my Disneyfied life.

Top Ten Spring Break Theme Park Essentials w/ DailyLook

Spring break speaks to all ages, not just college students. Families like to travel on Spring Break to just get away and have fun. One of our family's favorite spring break trips is to go to a theme park. You who come here often know just how much I love some theme parks (one in particular!)

And this spring break season comes with exciting news. DailyLook  inspired me to take part in their LBD Spring Break Style Challenge! I selected the perfect little black dress that would compliment my vacation from their little black dress collection. I, then, styled the outfit for theme park vacation that would be able to change from daytime to night with ease.

1. Multi-Outfit Clothing:

Pack light to have a full vacation! Pieces that can be worn for a daytime fun look and then with a few changes can be worn as a perfect date night look are my favorite!

I love taking a basic white tee and being able to wear is sooo many days! dress it up with statement necklaces and some rhinestone sandals. Dress it down in during the day with just fun funky print capris! Wear the next day with a skater skirt and sneakers (after you wash it of course!)

DailyLook's Caught Out There is another way to really utilize pieces as well. Using a swim top with a skirt for a night look. Pair it with shorts during the day. And use the swim bottoms and top at the pool or on the beach!

Or like the style outfit below that is a dress turned into several outfits. Daytime wear with jeans for time in the park. Wear the dress as a bikini cover up while relaxing at the pool. Pair the dress with sparkly belt and sandals!

2. Sunscreen:

Spring break means lots of sun (even under overcast!) so bring the sunscreen for hours without turning into a cooked lobster! Even wear a hat if you can. More on how to stow that hat while on the rides later!

3. Shoes:

Above I added Inkkas Cotton Candy Sneakers for a reason. You are going to want a good shoe to walk around in. I also added Sam Edelman Sandra Sandals because even on a date in a theme park you don't want to wear heels! I am always amazed at the people that wear heels in a theme park. I can only imagine the blisters and sore feet after a day in theme park with heels on!

4. Camera

Many people swear by the camera on their phone. I am one of them, myself. My fiance is not, however, he perfers to take his Canon with us on trips and he loves taking pictures. Plus having these pictures on your camera and on your phone can be extremely important to you:

- Room # - Late night in the park and just too tired to really remember what the room number is? Or if you are trying to send something to your room have the number handy!

- Kids' clothing for the day - Take a picture of your child each morning with what they are wearing in case they become lost you have the exact picture of what they are wearing. I also like this idea for planning outfits for when it comes time to pack for another trip to look back and see what you have worn.

- Parking - I usually try to have someone drive us whether it be by bus, boat, or taxi. But I know some people who like to have their cars available. Take a picture of what is in front, behind and any other special ways to remember where you parked!

5. Cellphone:

Walkie-talkies really should be out of style by now but you'd be amazed at the people that still try to use them in the parks. And the number of people who don't bring in a cellphone flabbergast me! Most theme parks have joined with the rest of the world in technology. Make sure you have joined with the rest of the world on the technology wagon so in case of an emergency you can get the information you need!

6. First Aid Kit

Yes you need a basic first aid kit. But I have some peculiar items to add to it. Blister band aids, blister stick, aloe vera, Kleenex, and a few cough drops. These extra items will be a life saver.

7. Water bottles with filters:

Sure there are water fountains for you to drink out of at theme parks but I like to know my water has been extra filtered. I prefer to bring filtered water bottles into the theme park for a day, especially during spring. Plus make sure it has a strap! Nobody wants to carry or have to place it inside a purse or bag and carry it around! Also at Disney World go to any counter service and ask for a cup of water- it's always free!

8. Carabiner Clips:

Why these? Simple hook to jeans or bag then hook a hat during a ride and you don't have to worry about your hat flying away. Hook your water bottle and don't worry about it. Bought a lot of things and have about 10 bags to carry all the bags with ease!

9. Charger:

I recommend getting a portable charging device! Most of us use ourselves updating every little bit of our vacations. (Jealous much coworkers?) But also it's good to have one for emergencies. I don't know at the times I look at someone and say well I can't call them my phone is dead. It's frustrating. Even though some parks will have a charging station be prepared other ways just in case!

10.  Hand santizer:

Countless times I have been told to use hand santizer while at a theme park, and countless times I have used it very little and ended up sick! This year already I have been terribly sick while on vacation and it really takes out some of the fun if you can't breath out of both nostrils, or if you are coughing and getting others sick. So use hand santizer! Get some Bath and Body Works or at the checkout line at Target! You'll be really grateful for using it-- ALL THE TIME!

So pack light and off you go!
