College Dorm Ideas and 6 Back to School Resources

If you are just starting out with college, congratulations! If you are returning, welcome back to campus! The buzz is still very different than high school and it's amazing. Trust me, there are times I miss the rush of going back to school over every day lives. Only sometimes.

Resources helped me through college and I hope they can you as well!

The companies that I believe would help most in setting up a dorm to fit your personality would be:

Greek U is an awesome with their line of products. The two products that stand out the most are:

Sorority Circle Pattern Teal Velveteen Blanket - To me teal is the perfect dorm color, it's calming and relaxing. But the pattern is rather intricate so it doesn't have you falling asleep at your dorm desk. Unless you are on your dorm bed and want to go to sleep with this gorgeous blanket, then do it. Treat yourself to some extra zzz's before it's time for class. Just don't be late.

Sorority Arrow Pattern Wall Tapestry - This is great for decorating with something big above your bed! It's a focal point to help you make the space something that you'll love and something that you care about. There are plenty of other wall tapestries that they carry!

Pottery Barn Teen is who I turned to when I started college that was almost 10 years ago (Omg I am old!) and they are still going strong with their dorm ideas! They have Dorm Checklists for some schools and they have Dorm 101 for making things flow! They also have a section on Apartments needs if you are upgraded from a dorm!

Tassel String Lights with Clips - There is something almost magical about string lights. I prefer these while in a bedroom setting. It provides ambiance and enough light to not disturb your roommate. I love that these have clips on them to attach notes or pictures! That's perfect to make your space your own!

Ultimate Footboard Storage - This is genius! I love having unique ways of storage for dorms! This is wonderful. Perfect for storing things your might need at the middle of the night or during the day! Snacks come to my mind, or cords. But the options are limitless.

Chair Back Storage - Another fantastic and new way to store things. Instead of just throwing things in a box and shoving it somewhere that you can't always get to when you need it, this allows for things to always be accessible.

Supercool Fridge Cart - I love this! Dorm mini fridge and but where is the rest of the food going to go? This is a prefect idea! I am not sure about their mini fridge, but a mini fridge is a really good item to have!

No Nails Fabric Wall Organizer, Solid - No nails! This is needed because they hate for people to use nails in dorms. This just sticks onto the wall with easy peel off backing after your year is over!

Favorite Tee Duvet Cover + Sham - You know that feeling when you pull your favorite tshirt over your head and you just know you are going to have the best day? Well what if you could slide into your bed that has the same kind of material just knowing you are going to have the best sleep? It can be done now!

Favorite Tee Sheet Set - And why not make that comfort on over to the sheets and pillows as well? Sinking into your favorite tshirt as you go to sleep at night. I would recommend getting it monogrammed to make sure someone doesn't claim it as theirs during laundry day. Trust me it happens, and it really will when they realize you have the best feeling sheets!

Student Shower Set w/ Hanging Caddy - Brilliant! I used a plastic basket as my shower caddy. Holds your soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shaving cream! I love that this comes with a set of towels for use as well. I really think this would be a great graduation gift.

Bath Beauty Set - Makeup wasn't a huge part of my college life. I had the basics and a few extra things, but what I did have that I do now is my skincare line. This bag is great for keeping lotions, toners, makeup wipes, and things like that. You could also keep a cosmetic bag in this caddy as well with all of your makeup in it. The towels are another set for backup of the ones that came with the studen shower set.

Easy Carry Laundry Bag - I went through a bunch of these before settling on this one. I remember college laundry. I could only depend on myself to do laundry. This is great for tossing the needs to do laundry on top of the dirty laundry and going. The product below fits inside this!

Easy Sort Laundry Bags - Where was this when I was in college? I am serious! The only other bag I would have added was reds because experience has taught me to wash everything red/crimson together. This product is something I would have simply loved!

Now with the help of A Pop of Jess, we have scoured Pinterest to find some helpful blog post's to make starting back to college a cinch!

A wonderful guide to prepping for the new school year. Several great resources included!

Number 5 may sound crazy at first but it is a big help! Then they know you are serious which is a great thing to have behind you if something drastic happens to you during the semester.

Her idea to buy a tiny printer is an excellent idea! Most schools will charge for printing!

This girl gives you the real deal about what clothes to bring and how many. She isn't unrealistic at all. She is right there are some crazy lists out there that say 2 pairs of jeans will get you through the semester. I'm all about telling people there isn't space in a dorm but come on!

Microsoft Word is my go to program for just about anything. This has some great advice like making a customized highlight that uses colors that you are drawn to for your notes!

For even more resources this is the best post! It's filled with links to help you out!

I have really enjoyed this post and I hope you have as well. What college ideas helped you?
