I May Be Planning on Putting up My Tree But I'm Still Thankful

Welcome back to my blog if you are returning and hello if you are just joining me for the first time. It's almost Halloween and I'm planning on putting up my holiday decorations with Disney. A new tradition for me. But there is one tradition that I am starting this year that is for you guys.

Each Thursday I'll be posting a list of things I have been thankful for the entire week prior to that Thursday. Like the first Thankful Thursday will be a week after this post is dated. It will include all the things that I am thankful for the week.

Thankful - feeling or expressing gratitude; appreciative. This is how dictionary.com defines thankful. And adjective that I want more of in my life. It's not boasting, it's realizing just how much I take for granted every day. While I wish for something more, there are people around me are wishing for the things that I have, and take for granted.

In life I forget to praise God for the blessings He has given me. I forget when a prayer is answered to praise Him. And I shouldn't just be asking, asking, etc. I should be praising, praising, etc. God is truly amazing, and my love for Him hopefully shines through in my work. It might not, but I am hoping that it changes.

A lot of people do Thankful Thursdays during the year, especially November, so why is this different? Because I want to really marinate myself in why I should be thankful. Why I should be thankful from God's perspective. How to truly show appreciation for the things I have in my life. God doesn't have to give us the things He gives in order for us to understand Him, and his son, Jesus Christ. That's what I want to showcase this season, is the many blessings that I receive that's to His amazing grace.

I'll also be posting a Thankful list in my planner as well. The fact that I can keep these moments are very special to me. It's wonderful to also be able to share these things as well. The amount of happiness that is already filling me because of the holiday season is upon us is tremendous.

What sort of Thankful rituals or traditions do you have? Are you doing any Thankful Thursdays or thankful challenges?  If so comment below!

Etsy Sticker Haul

So I have finally bought my planner for next year... As to which planner I bought and when it will arrive is for another post. But for now, let's stick with the stickers! I had slightly laid off on the sticker buying, because like the whole month of August and September I was on a buying frenzy! But towards the end of September and most of October I was good. KGPlanner is what made me fall off the wagon.

KGPlanner started her own website and emails coupons almost weekly (Goodbye paycheck!) and I really love her website. I understand the transition to a website. Etsy does cost to put products on their website, and that's just for listing them. Get known on Etsy then make your own website. And KGPlanner played it smart because she still has paypal and tracking!

So first from her I received the following four sheets...

Open Book Stickers - These are for several purposes of mine. I want to use them for reading, Bible Study, and to remember certain things about books.

File Folders - I bought these because she gave me a sample sticker on one of my orders before this and it really came in handy! I can think of a lot of things these will come in handy for in the future. From work things, to computer, to organizing my office!

Cute Winter Decorating Kit / Weekly Spread - Most this sheet I will use during January, but I do plan to go ahead and use the Rudolph stickers. This set is just super cute and I had to have it!

Vintage Christmas Decorating Kit / Weekly Spread - I have been attracted to this spread since she first came out with it! I love it so much. I love things that are vintage. I really want this years Christmas to feel vintagey. Vintage has really changed my life this year and I want to express that in the holidays as well.

For the second shop that I shopped at, it was on Etsy. Salty Planning Co I found just roaming Etsy. I have had these particular stickers in my cart for about a month. I finally decided to get them and I'm very happy about that.

Vintage Holiday Christmas planner stickers - These are actually what lead me to this shop! I love the vintage feel to these. I believe they will go so well with KGPlanner's vintage kit!

What's the Weather planner stickers - I have tried a lot of different weather planning. Stamps, large and small, and different stickers. But these just might be my absolute favorite! They are small, they have all the weather for Alabama, so yeah they are just perfect!

Grocery Shopping planner stickers - I love grocery shopping. I love shopping, but that's beside the point. But I also like going to market as well. I am hoping that these stickers will help remind me which ones I need to go to in the future.

I hope you all have enjoyed my stickers. Feel free to share your favorite shops and websites in the comments below for the stickers in your planner! Until next time!

October 2015 Popsugar Must Have

Hello everyone! I know I didn't get to share Popsugar September with you, but I am back with October! POPSUGAR Must Have Box is an exciting box full of fun, must-have picks across fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, and more, which is delivered to your door on a monthly basis. Boxes include full-size products and premium items including tried-and-true classics, celebrity favorites, and brands consumers have yet to discover worth over $100!

The October 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Box was inspired by “Autumn, Restful Nights, Cozy, Irresistible and Breast Cancer Awareness.”

Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling - Why Not Me is a collection of essays from Mindy Kaling about love, work, friendships, weight, etc. My best friend read her first book and liked it. I think I might read her other book first then this one.

Honest Company Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub - I have used a lot of Honest Co. products, but I believe I have never used their scrub before now. It’s made with whole grain sugars, sea salts, shea butter and almond oils. The consistency is like a thick applesauce. The Lavender Vanilla scent is not overpowering and the scrub itself is very gentle. This will be a favorite of mine. I used this all over and felt like I was in heaven!

Belgian Boys All Natural Stroopwafel - Stroopwafels are amazing. They are caramel filled and were delicious with a cup of coffee in the morning. They are even better when you eat it warm which you can do by putting it on top of your steaming coffee cup. When they have them at TJMaxx they have a good special on them! I always scoop these up whenever I see them!

Savvy Sleepers 100% Satin Pillow Case (Standard Size) - I use satin pillowcases on most everything that I sleep on. I mean they prevent sleep wrinkles, hair breakage and salon blowouts. I have never tried this brand but I think it will be just perfect.

Easy, Tiger Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set - These are super cute. Not just for wine though even those that's what they are mainly intended for with their use. I have been known to wrap things in wine bags so people think that's what they are getting and it's really not.

Richer Poorer Hope Slipper Sock - I love fuzzy socks and to have the grips on the bottom is even better. These were designed by Popsugar to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I should also mention that in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Popsugar has made a donation to Right Action for Women, which is a charitable foundation started by actress Christina Applegate.

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product (2 fl.oz) - This spray helps to add shine, detangle and stop frizz. They are a partner of Right Action for Women. I have bought this and received this product in boxes before, though not neccessarily from Popsugar.

Danielle Stevens Jewelry Monogram Gift Card - I have actually bought from this company before because I follow a lot of fashion people on Instagram. A lot of people are grumbling because you still have to spend money. Well I don't know about everyone else but I usually do that with just about any gift-card I receive.

There was also a coupon code for Honest Company and for Savvy Sleepers.

This wasn't my exact favorite box, but it was a box I love nevertheless. I'm not getting the Neiman Marcus box, because those things just aren't me. I like more practical things.

The Duffy Situation

Duffy is Mickey's teddy bear. Minnie made Duffy for Mickey for his travels. He met many adventures. He has been greeting people in different seasonal outfits for about 5 years. I love Duffy. I have my own stuffed Duffy.

However, Disney just removed Duffy out of Disney World. But the weird thing they are bringing in his girlfriend's merchandise. How does this make sense? The whole thing is baffling. To me there are several ways and reasons why Duffy and his girlfriend should stay in all Disney parks!

One, I think they should reintroduce Duffy (which they might be doing so.) Mickey's Clubhouse is very big right now. Introduce Duffy that way. Make him a household name. Trust me, I know this is Disney's "Build-A-Bear" competition move, but they really can make it more than that. Have Duffy be a Disney wish bear! Be able to "sew" in a Disney wish into Duffy!

Two, I think Duffy and his girlfriend, ShellieMay, should be a part of more parks. They are already at Aluni, but make them more visible in the parks. Really market the babies and toddlers for Duffy. A snuggle teddy bear is amazing for fears, it helps them have something comforting a Disney bear might just be that.

Three, create more merchandise. There is a base story, but create more stories. Have them come in all forms. Board books for babies. Golden books for toddlers. Really market the teddy bears of Mickey and Minnie. Have cartoons or movies. This is a huge way for Disney to make profit. They just have to market it in a special way.

Four, Duffy and ShellieMay already have international recognition. For years Japan has shown off all of their Duffy and ShellieMay merchandise. I believe that if it can be popular in other countries. It can be popular in the U.S. as well.

So here is to hoping that Duffy is just taking a short break, and will return with his girlfriend ShellieMay soon!

Currents 10. 18. 15

Happy Sunday everyone!

I have a lot to do today. This is an exciting time for me this week. There is wedding stuff to do, fall festival stuff to do, and also family time. Plus, I'm starting to get everything ready for the holidays! That's what's really going to be amazing.

I finally bought my planner for next year. You'll see some planning posts being posted soon! I have forgotten that part of my life! I absolutely adore it! I love the wonderful things of planning out my week! I did it completely in Haunted Mansion, especially since I have the planner charm in Haunted Mansion!

Today though is going to be about the front of our cabin, cleaning and decorating. And the other parts of my day is going to be about Bible study and blogging! Those are the things I am most concerned with today!

Let me know what you have planned for the day!

Autumn in the Mountains!

First of all, is autumn your favurite season? Why or why not?

Of course it is! I like the cooler days after a miserably hot summer. I like when the leaves change colors and pumpkins and scarecrows and Halloween decorations are everywhere. And of course football season!

Is it ‘autumn’ or 'fall’, to you?

Autumn these days, but I love the phrase "Happy Fall, Ya'll!"

What kind of weather does your area get during this season?

Hot with mildly cool days... Unless we head to the Smoky Mountains.

Were you born in an autumn month?

Yup, October!

Do you pay attention to any 'fall fashions’?

Boots and sweaters

Which leaf color is your favorite?

I like them all, but prefer red.

Is it still fun to rake the leaves and jump in piles of them?

Yes as long as there are no sweet gum balls in there...

When can you really tell that it’s autumn?

When it starts getting cooler and the leaves start changing colors… but that’s not exactly when I start decorating/celebrating ;)

Do you still enjoy carving pumpkins?

I do! I carve foam and real pumpkins each year!

Do you eat the pumpkin seeds? If so, do you put any kind of flavoring on it?

I made some last year for the very first time and on half of them I just put salt and on the other half I put cinnamon.

Are you planning to go to a pumpkin patch this year?

We have already been! And going again!

Which was your favorite Halloween costume to wear?

I'm not sure.

Are you planning to go trick-or-treating? Why or why not?

Yep!

Are there any county fairs held nearby during this time?

If we were home,

What is your favourite dessert for this time of year?

Pecan Pie.

Is your Thanksgiving Day in October or November, if you even celebrate it?

November.

If you do celebrate it, where do you usually have Thanksgiving dinner?

It used to be at my grandma's, now I have my own.

Do you remember any crafts you used to do that were autumn-themed?

Leave rubbing and pumpkin carving

Are any of your favorite bands doing a fall tour this year?

I don’t know.

Which new TV show are you looking forward to this season?

I'm not but new episodes of all the NCIS shows! Plus DWTS!

How does autumn typically make you feel?

Happy duh.

What color do you always associate with autumn?

Orange, red, brown, yellow.

Is there a song that always reminds you of this season?

When Autumn Leaves Start to Fall and Summer Skin

Do you have any seasonal traditions?

Lots!

Do you spend a lot of time outside during this time of the year?

Oh yes!

When can you tell that fall is over?

Thanksgiving. That's when it's over for me. When Santa gets to Macy's that's it. Bye bye fall.

What is a typical autumn outfit that you wear?

Sweater, leggings or skinny jeans, boots.

Describe a perfect autumn day:

Getting in the morning with it really cold and partly sunny going for a long run. Coming back to a hot shower, and then a steaming cup pumpkin spice tea while reading my Bible on the back porch. Raking leaves with the kids, then cooking lunch and having a family picnic in the back yard with the kids. Then baking and watching Halloween shows and movies with the kids.

Don’t you hate it when stores start promoting Christmas way too early?

Nah - I get even more excited

What is your favorite thing about this season?

Everything, the colors, football, and food!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Radiance Lispticks

Influenster sent me the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Voxbox. I was very excited about this considering how much I loved the other YSL Voxbox I received this summer. This was very different products, but some that I thought I might just love!

Influenster sent two YSL Rouge Pur Couture Radiance Lispticks. The two very different colors they sent was 09 Rose Stiletto and 19 Fuchsia. They are both perfect for the beginning of the fall colors. Though I must admit that I have leaned toward the Rose Stiletto each time I grab for one of these lipsticks. My days of wearing hot pink colors are limited. I just haven't felt the pull towards outlandish colors lately in lipsticks.

The color is one of the things that really stood out in this product. The color payoff is amazing in both colors. Both are highly pigmented with just one application, however, this product can be built up as well. The colors that Influenster sent have really nice shine to them as well. The shine isn't too shiny, but rather it takes away the need for a gloss over the lipstick.

This lipstick has really long last power. It can really with stand some daytime power. It goes through kissing my children goodbye, kissing my sweetie goodbye, sipping on the straw of my "good morning" sweet tea, and the rest of my breakfast and it doesn't wear off. I reapply after lunch for more color boost.

Packaging is everything. This is one of my favorite things about the YSL brand. Their packaging is flawless. It is a product that just screams that is it a luxurious product. Plus the logo print carved into the lipstick, itself, is amazing. This is a brand that can really make you feel better about yourself.

Would I repurchase this lipstick? Yes! I know to some it is pricey, but I do believe that it is worth it. Everything is in this lipstick that I look for; shine, color, and lasting power. I really recommend this product, especially if you are treating yourself.

Smirk

When I posted yesterday's currents I knew I would be writing this post today. For it's now a year until we get married. Writing that out seems so strange, and talking about it is even weirder. But at the same time, I see in my mind ideas of the perfect hybrid of Disney/Haunted Mansion/Harry Potter wedding.

Our theme for our wedding is unique to us because we aren't just a Disney couple. We are also huge Harry Potter fans. So why not combine the two together for the perfect wedding? That's what we are doing. Getting married on a Friday during football season... What did you honestly expect me to get married on a football Saturday? Not gonna happen in my family.

What does getting married mean to me? Funny this question hits my mind on today of all days. I asked Vin a question about why he doesn't get all territorial of me when other guys hit on me. He doesn't put his arm on or around me. He stands beside me. His answer was perfect and fits our romantic life perfectly. "We are better off as friends." I hear so many couples today that get a divorce, "We are better as friends."

That saddens me about them. They don't to hold the responsibility of filling up that person's love tank anymore. And I knew Vin's answer perfectly, because I feel the same way. We are team, each other's backup. We have recently took up watching NCIS. Where they fight bad guys, we fight the world together. We tackle bills, children problems, diagnoses, and etc. The way we work is interesting. Sometimes, I'm laidback and he is the boss. And then sometimes, it's the other way around. I guess we have a bit of turf thing withing our relationship. So where are we neutral? London, some would say. We, however, agree it's Orlando.

Over the last year I have deeply thought about the first time I met Vin. It makes me smirk, because we both felt like we were macho. And yet we found each other and we drove each other crazy. That was at the age of 11 for me. It's hard to believe that the cap that is on my head now is the same cap I stole from the 13 year old fourteen years ago with the same smirk I am giving him now.

And I am smirking even more, knowing that in a year, I'll be still be smirking at him as his wife.

Currents 10. 14. 15

Today... Today was an interesting day for me. If you were on the outside looking in at my life to day you would think that I didn't have anything special going on in my life. But I was positively beaming on the inside. This time next year my last name will be Mallone. Because today is exactly one year until I marry Vin.

Besides that I was able to go through the boxes of prizes, games, and decor for the town fall festival. I also went to the market and bought things for suppers and lunches. It feels good to just be a mom, instead of a boss for right now. I really enjoying the mountain air. We did curl up this afternoon and enjoyed the Christmas segments on QVC!

It feels really good to get things off my to-do list. I promise to give you all the posts soon when I relax a little more. Those posts are important to me as well. Them being the best quality of mine is what makes them so dear to me. But rest assure it's coming.

The World of Pumpkin!

Since I didn't give you a Disney Sunday Post I thought I would let you in on the food haul I did from Cost Plus World Market. It's been a long time since I have been to a Cost Plus World Market because there has never been one in Tuscaloosa before now. The last one that I went into was when I was living in Seattle while still in high school.

So I was back in Tuscaloosa yesterday, for a random drug test that the entire company's name is put into a bag and then we draw names (high tech huh?) And my wonderful IT guy managed to pull my name. So anyhow after taking the drug test we went to the new shopping center in Tuscaloosa. The Shoppes at Legacy Park is brand new to Tuscaloosa. They just started opening the stores back in September! These shops are awesome for Tuscaloosa! More jobs, better shopping, and more cash flow kept in Tuscaloosa instead of people going to Hoover or Birmingham.

So, as a treat to myself I told the friends and family, that live with me, that we were going shopping. We went into Cost Plus World Market and I fell in love instantly! They have stuff from all over the... you guessed it; the world! It's awesome for me to have a place to buy tea biscuits instead of at Disney World.

So anyhow, of the food ideas I bought they were all pumpkin related. Which wasn't planned!

World Market® Halloween Pasta - Sometimes for lunches I will fun shaped pasta for the kids and myself. Yes, even though they are homeschooled I get up and prepare lunches before I leave. It lets them know that I thought about them. Vin oversees the homeschooling when we are in Alabama, and when we are in North Carolina, I take over the homeschooling. So this pasta is just so cute. Little bats, witches, spiders, and pumpkins in different colors. I'm not sure yet just what recipe I will make with this. Watch for it on Instagram.

Zhena's Gypsy Tea Harvest Sampler Tin, 16-Count - For starts the packaging is so cute and so amazing. The cans are attached to one another. There is Pumpkin Spice, Caramel Apple, Chocolate Truffle, and Cranberry Bliss. So far I have only tried out the Pumpkin Spice. It's so delicious!

Twinings Pumpkin Spice Chai - In keeping with my tea obsession, I found this little box. Now I have tried the Twinings Chai but never with pumpkin! I cannot wait to try this in the morning! It will be so delicious! Plus, it's just perfect to add to my collection of tea.

World Market® Pumpkin Spice Blend Coffee - While I am drinking my tea, Vin will be sipping his coffee. He actually really likes flavored coffee and likes to try different blends. In fact, he has tried quite a few different flavors already this fall of coffee. I am hoping this might be one of his favorites!

Market Classics® Chipotle Pumpkin Soup Mix - When I see these dips and soups that are packaged like this, it makes me want to buy them all. I couldn't refuse a pumpkin soup that is chipotle flavored too! I know with how cold the Smoky Mountains nights can get and I think that this will sure warm us up.

Farmers' Market Pumpkin PurĂ©e Tetrapak - They had this placed perfectly! It was about a foot from the soup. Since this is one of the three outside ingredients from the packaged soup, I was quite happy. Plus, I am a sucker for boxed products. I prefer boxed food, like milk and such. I am a weirdo, but it's true. It was worth the price to buy this organic pumpkin.

Now this should be the end of the pumpkin things I brought home with me, but it's not. My best friend's youngest daughter, Briar, asked very politely if she could go to "Aunt Hunter 'mowtin' home." Her daddy and mommy let her and since they call her pumpkin she is the best pumpkin thing in the mix!

Tea (Beer) Time With Hunter: I'm Back, Currents Update, and More!

Yes everyone I am back! I can hardly believe it myself especially since the other day when I wrote the post saying it would be a while before I returned I was thinking it would be closer to weeks then days, rather, before I returned to you all! Now let's sit down with a cup of tea beer (It's homecoming here at The Quad for Alabama) and chat about this exciting news, and some other things.

First off, if you remember at the end of last year and the beginning of this year when I disappeared it was because of my computer. It started out in November, and carried on over into January and February. And guess what? The exact same thing happened again with my old computer. Keyboard bit the dust. Now that computer is five years old and I love it. Even though it cannot longer work for me, I still love it. It has been with me since I was in Alabama before my move back to Seattle, and then returned to Alabama again with me. It was a very loyal computer. We met many friends through it. But it was time to part ways.

My fiance was nice enough to suggest him buying me a new one. He and I neither one had any clue how long it would take before I would get a computer. Let me begin by saying I have had a Dell computer for ten years. My first ever computer was a Dell desktop. It was wonderful, granted the reason it fell off my radar list was 1) it wasn't portable and 2) I didn't keep the security software updated and on. Those are my faults. The netbook I had from Dell was purchased from QVC and was an Inspiron and was crap. I think it latest me a year, but again, I believe most of the issues with it, were my own ignorance of how to treat a computer.

Now my Dell XPS laptop that I have had for 5 years was a dream come true for me. There is a small part of me that does wish I could just continue to use it but I know that is not advisable at all. One of the the main things I have loved about my Dells is that they have all been customized just for me. Even the one from QVC was in a small way. My XPS was no different. It had perfect memory, RAM, graphics, etc. But times change it was time to move on.

So Vin and I started looking. We butted heads a lot because I wanted another XPS, one that I figured would be similar to what I already had. However, they are nothing alike anymore. Even the company Dell has changed. The customer service we received was unbelievably horrible. I have been using Dell for over 10 years (our first family computer was a dell back in 1999.) And I was so disappointed with the service we received that we decided to go with an HP Envy. Which as it turns out is almost exactly like an XPS but with more and more affordable. The graphics might not be as amazing as I would like them to be but that's understandable.

So yes I am back! I have really enjoyed my laptop so far. It has so many new things in a computer that I have never had before on anything! It's wonderful. Which means it will be wonderful to learn how to do more things for blog posts for you all with this computer. It has me extremely excited to learn what all I can do with this computer to help me blog for you all.

Now just like the last time I returned, there are changes coming to my posting. The last time I came back I came back with more content. This time however, I am changing up the game for me. With a somewhat heavy heart there will be no more weekly Currents, full or mini. I might post one or two a week, but probably just one a week. The reason being is that currents give you a look into my daily life, but from now on I hope to be doing that in other forms of social media.

A computer change isn't the only change I have made since my computer went out. I am now a mom to two more little girls in my life. I don't care what your judgement is of me. The fact that most of the children I have in my life haven't had the best start to a life and I want to change that. Nothing boils my blood like parents that do not take care of their children.

So yes I have an additional 2 children since my last tea time. I am loving being a mom to a clan. They are so amazing. We learn from each child. Knowing that Livvy and Emmy are going to teach us many lessons.

So that's pretty much it for this time with you. I'm raising my glass to you and the Alabama football team that just won against Arkansas. I will be going to the mountains tomorrow so most of my post for the next few weeks will be from there. Enjoy!

September 2015 Favorites and Lookback

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone's September was wonderful! I know mine was partially. It was rather boring. I didn't do too many things and that shows in my favorites.

Beauty:

Spruce and Fresh Golden Girl Scrub - I love this stuff! It's so amazing on my elbow to get dead skin. I love this and I cannot wait to purchase it again.

H20 Facial Soap - I get these travel sizes of these when I'm at Disney World. If you stay in a deluxe or villa you get them free with the room. I steal them each day so I have a fresh set each day. I love this soap, if I have a break out on my face, this clears it right up. It gets my face feeling super clean. (I couldn't find a link, sorry.)

Milani Fierce Foil Eyeshine- I really love this palette. I love how a little goes a long way. I get complements every time I wear this eye shadow. It shimmers and shines and can be applied on top other eye shadows for more of a dramatic look.

Media Favorites:

Netflix NCIS - Around 2009 I binged watch NCIS while in college, and if you have read my old posts you know I was in college with Vin. Guess what we are back to binge watching it again and again. I love this show and it's spin offs. Does anyone know if JAG was this good? The show that NCIS spun-off of?

Oregon Trail App IOS - I have been obsessed with this game. I have constantly playing it all the time. It's a lot like Farmville, but with mini games and other differences.

And as always here is my Lookback for September in my Erin Condren
