Top 10 New Apps on My iPhone

Soooo I got my income tax money back and I got a new phone and a few other things. But the phone is a pretty big deal. I was still using and still enjoying my iPhone 5. So moving up to an iPhone 8 was a huge transition! And I not only upgraded the phone, but I did the storage as well. I now have the biggest phone capacity for an iPhone and I'm loving it! I take a ton of screenshots of things to remind me to check into things further. And I have a ton more room for storage of apps! So here are my new top 10 apps!

There's an app for that, yes there is!

These are in no specific order. All of the opinions are my own. Nobody told me to do this list. Plus I am an iOS user so I'm very sorry if some of these are not available for Android users.

YNAB - I have been wanting to get more involved in my finances. For years, I have been "involved" to just know how much money I could spend and that was it. Now, I'm learning to budget and see just where my money goes.

Peak - This "brain game" I had a few years ago. This is one of three brain games I now have on my phone. I like peak because there is more variety to the games. I also like the color scheme of Peak better than Elevate or Lumosity. But I do enjoy all three of them.

Color Story - A Color Story is a photo editing app. I have heard so many different apps are the best for editing photos on your phone. Well, I trust Emily Ley and she uses Color Story! I am really loving that there are so many options with filters. I also like that you can create a grid picture in the app as well. It's a new kind of app for me with this phone.

YourDailyWalk - I have been a fan of Leslie Sansone for years! When my brother was gaining muscle back from having chemo they recommended walking. Sometimes it wasn't easy for him to go outside, cold or raining, so we started doing the Leslie Sansone walk at home videos. Fast forward years later and I still love doing these so much that I pay the $5 for unlimited access to about 30 videos a month! It's fantastic!

Headspace - I have been a big fan of Simply Being app for a while, but everyone raved about Headspace. While I still prefer the Simply Being: Relax & Rest for sleep, I have recently started using the Headspace app more and more. I have discovered that maybe this is the only app I need for meditation, except for Abide. (But that's for another day.)

theSkimm - A podcast mentioned this one day but I didn't pay much attention to it. Later one I saw it being advertised by a blogger and I was interested. It's an email that you get with headlining news wrote in terms you can understand and it's linked so that you can read it yourself. One thing though, they forget not to pick sides. I just keep an open mind, and sometimes I just shake my head but I keep on. But the app is so much more! You do have to pay to use the app but it has so much in it from notes, audio notes, and calendars that can be integrated with your phone's calendar. I have really come to rely on their social type calendar of letting me know when big events are!

PayPal - So I'm a huge fan of PayPal. I hate the fact it's not an option everywhere. But downloading it on my phone was a huge improvement for me. I buy a lot with PayPal obviously and now instead of having to go get on my laptop or desktop; it's at my fingertips! I love seeing transactions right there. It's really helping me with my budget.

HP Smart - I have recently acquired a new HP printer and I'm in love with it. Granted I think I could have loved any printer over the Epson printer. Do not buy from them. End rant. With this printer, I can now print from my phone! I can print pictures and documents... from my phone! I really love that I have that capability now. I download a lot of printables from people and now instead of downloading it to a cloud or drive I can go ahead and print it!

Overcast - While the podcast app on iOS is okay, Overcast offers more! I really have enjoyed this app for all of my podcast listenings. And that's a lot lately. And there will be a post coming about that very soon. I do have a yearly subscription to this app. It's just $10 but you can use the free version just fine if you don't mind more commercials.

Google Photo - Another Emily Ley story to go with an app! She recommends backing up your phone's photos to a service so that your photos are always there. I love Google so much that I couldn't dream of using a different system to save my photos! It's super easy to have those photos anywhere and to share them on anything! I'm really grateful for that!

What apps should I try out next? Please, please, tell me apps to try out! I love discovering new apps for the phone. I'm a total creeper with people on Instagram if they are doing a screen video. I like to pause it to check out the apps they have on their phones. So please let me know your favorites!
